Workshops
My Workspace (with Tutor)
My Workspace offers flexibility and affordability that is designed to suit you. Work at your own pace with the guidance of our in-house tutor. Some people start with one of our structured 3-hour classes and utilise the My Workspace thereafter. Others who can not attend one of our classes take advantage of My Workspace and gain the skills that suit them at time that suits them best. Extra fees for clay, ready-made bisque ware, glazing & firings. Cappuccino, hot chocolate or chai tea available.
Introductory Pottery Wheel
Our introductory Pottery Wheel Classes run every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday from 10am to 1pm for 3 hours. We have 8 available spaces. Learn the craft of throwing clay and forming, working at your own pace. This is a learning process don’t expect a masterpiece on your first day! We will support you no matter if you are a beginner or have had previous wheel experience. Everything you need is included you will make 2 pots and come back when they are ready to paint, trim & decorate your pots by booking a 1 hr workspace $11.50. This is our most popular class.
Level 1 Pottery Course
PW 8 Weeks
Join our Events and enroll for our 8 week pottery course up to 8 people. After learning the basic pottery wheel techniques having completed our Introductory Pottery Wheel workshop you will now learn advanced skills and gain further knowledge working on a project of 4x small plates 4x mugs 4x pasta bowls. Course runs 2-3 hours 1 night per week for 8 weeks including 3 hours of workspace for catch up or practice time.

Sip & Pot just for 2
Ideal for mums & daughters, couples, good friends. this catered space is all about free motion of creativity & connection rather than learning and tuition. Let us organise a customised pot & paint 2-hour session from $89* for 2 people sharing a workspace. You can hand build, paint & decorate or choose a pre-made bisque ware and even have us put a candle in it!
Sharing a 2 Hr workspace up to 2 people with 2kg of clay in total or 2x readymade bisque wares, includes painting & decorating, firing. BYO welcome
$89 plus $11.50 per hour thereafter
Sip & Pot Group
Custom group classes for social, teambuilding & celebrations up to 20 people. groups are welcome to bring a bottle of wine or order a pizza!, we can also provide sparkling grape juice as a optional extra. Many options are available to paint on readymade pottery or make your own hand building pinch pots or coil pots. About
Ruffshuffler Ceramics
Robyn Smith-Clark the founder of Ruffshuffler Ceramics in New Zealand, introduced into ceramics by Roy Evans in Henderson Auckland 1973. Robyn gained a reputation over the years as a professional ceramics artist has had exhibitions in Melbourne and gallery sales/retail outlets across Australia. She returned to New Zealand in 2023 with the desire to teach and work with the community in Christchurch offering her expertise and enthusiasm with clay.
